Fans of The Summer I Turned Pretty finally have the update they have been waiting for, as production on the highly anticipated movie adaptation has officially begun.
According to new production reports, filming started on April 27 in Wilmington, North Carolina, the same location that helped bring the original series to life. Cast members including Lola Tung and Chris Briney are expected to return as the beloved story transitions from streaming success to the big screen.
The screenplay is reportedly complete, with filming expected to continue throughout the coming months. While no official release date has been announced, industry sources believe the movie could arrive in 2027.
For fans who grew attached to Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah’s emotional journey, the move to cinema suggests the franchise is preparing its most ambitious chapter yet, with higher production values, a wider audience, and potentially an even more emotional finale.
