A Maltese chocolatier has claimed his third Guinness World Record with a spectacular 52-metre-long chocolate train unveiled in Milan, officially recognised as the longest chocolate sculpture in the world!

Created from 3,000kg of high-quality Belgian chocolate with the help of Maltese and Italian culinary students, the giant train was revealed at the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia ahead of the Winter Games in northern Italy.

The record-breaking project was also a charity effort to raise funds for Hospice Malta and Associazione Cure Palliative ODV-ETS in Bergamo, with students and volunteers selling chocolate and biscuits to support the cause.

While the chocolate train itself is not edible after prolonged exposure, parts of it will be melted down for training purposes and the rest repurposed as animal feed.

The achievement marks a proud moment for the Mellieħa chef and his collaborators, celebrating creativity, teamwork and community spirit on an international stage.
