Background

Lily Collins is stepping into one of Hollywood’s most iconic roles after confirming she will portray Audrey Hepburn in a new film centred on the making of Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

The project, produced by Collins herself through Case Study Films, will explore the behind the scenes story of the 1961 classic rather than remake the original movie. The screenplay is based on Sam Wasson’s book Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M., which examines how the film helped shape modern pop culture.

Collins shared that the project has been nearly a decade in development, describing it as a personal tribute to Hepburn’s legacy. Casting details for other major figures involved in the original production, including writer Truman Capote and director Blake Edwards, have not yet been revealed.

The original Breakfast at Tiffany’s received five Oscar nominations and won two awards, later being added to the US National Film Registry for its cultural significance. Alongside this new role, Collins continues to work on upcoming projects including the next season of Emily in Paris.
