One England fan is taking his love for football to the next level, by selling his home to follow his team at the World Cup.

Andy Milne, a 62-year-old retired teacher, has revealed plans to sell his second property to fund a seven-week trip to the 2026 FIFA World Cup across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Milne is no ordinary supporter. He has followed England across multiple tournaments and has become something of a cult figure among fans, often spotted carrying a replica World Cup trophy.

This year, however, the costs are significantly higher. With travel, accommodation, and tickets all rising, following England all the way to the final could cost fans thousands.

Determined not to miss out, Milne says it felt like the right time to “cash in” on his property, which he has owned for over two decades.

Despite the big decision, he is still planning to keep costs down where possible. He intends to stay with friends across different host cities and has already secured flexible flights for the tournament.

For Milne, it is not just about football, it is about the experience. From opening matches to potential knockout games, he hopes to be there every step of the way.

While most fans would not go as far as selling their home, his story highlights just how far passion for the game can go.
