Marvel is already discussing MCU stories that could stretch to 2042

The Marvel Cinematic Universe might just be getting started.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has revealed that the studio is already discussing story ideas that could stretch all the way to 2042.

That does not mean Marvel already has every movie planned for the next 16 years. Feige stressed that there is no guarantee the ideas currently being discussed will actually make it to the big screen.

Instead, Marvel likes to think far ahead and explore the enormous library of characters and stories available from decades of Marvel comics.

That gives the studio plenty of possibilities when deciding where to take the MCU next.

Since Iron Man kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008, the franchise has grown to include dozens of films and television series featuring some of the biggest superheroes in pop culture.

Even after all those stories, Marvel still has countless heroes, villains and comic book storylines it could explore in the future.

If discussions are already reaching as far ahead as 2042, it seems the MCU has no plans to disappear anytime soon.
