Get ready to unleash your inner Cheetah because one of Disney’s most iconic girl groups is making a comeback.

Disney+ has officially announced The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen, a brand new film that will continue the beloved franchise for a new generation of fans.

Production is set to begin this month in South Africa, with the story following Galleria and Chanel as they travel to Africa alongside Galleria’s daughter and her friends. During the journey, the younger group discovers what it truly means to become the next generation of The Cheetah Girls.

Several familiar faces are returning to reprise their original roles, including Raven-Symoné as Galleria, Adrienne Bailon as Chanel, Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda, Lynn Whitfield as Dorothea and Lori Alter as Juanita.

Joining the cast are Leah Sava’ Jeffries, Carmen Sanchez, Kaileen Chang, Sophie Lennon and Kamogelo Ramashala, while Sophia Bush has also been announced as Jennifré.

The original Cheetah Girls films became huge Disney Channel hits in the 2000s, launching memorable songs and building a loyal fanbase that has remained passionate for years.

With both returning stars and fresh new talent, Disney hopes the latest instalment will introduce the franchise to a whole new audience.
