Need a reason to buy another concert ticket? Researchers may have just given you one.
A study conducted by O2 in collaboration with researchers from Goldsmiths University found that attending live music events may have a positive impact on wellbeing and overall happiness.
According to the findings, just 20 minutes at a live concert could significantly boost positive feelings. Researchers highlighted factors such as social connection, excitement, dancing, and the experience of live music as key contributors.
The study also suggested that people who regularly attend concerts tend to report higher levels of wellbeing, which researchers linked to the possibility of a longer and healthier life.
While more research is needed, the findings offer another reason for music lovers to enjoy live performances.
So the next time someone questions your concert spending habits, you might be able to call it an investment in your wellbeing.
